What We Do

We go out twice a week and provide food and other needed items to the unsheltered homeless population of Columbus, Ohio. We visit homeless camps, but we also stop for people wherever we happen to find them.

The food we provide is in the form of generously portioned sack lunches. Each lunch contains a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a piece of fresh fruit, toaster pastries, chips or something comparable, and a breakfast bar. The idea is to give people enough food so that they can eat some now and have a little left for later. Every lunch comes with a bottle of water.

The other assistance we provide can be anything from clothing, to footwear, to tents, to sleeping bags. We routinely provide food and treats for people’s pets. We have helped acquire wheelchairs. On one occasion we jump started someone’s car. You get the idea—We do our best to help with whatever we can.

The Empathy Experiment is also partnered with Franklin County Public Health and is a distributor of naloxone and fentanyl test strips.

If you would like to donate either food or other items, check out our donation page! Your assistance goes directly to those who need it.
